First Aid >>Hydration
Dont let the cold weather fool you! While you may pay more attention
to being hydrated in the summer, you need to remember hydration is just
as important in the wintertime, especially while you are skiing or snowboarding.
When you are exercising at high altitudes in cold weather, remember to
stay hydrated for a healthy outdoor experience!
Tips for staying hydrated:
- Drink 6-8 (8 ounce) glasses of water everyday.
- Drink water throughout the day. Carry a water bottle with you or strap
on a hydration pack.
- Drink water during your breaks.
- Check your urine color - if you are drinking enough water, your urine
will be clear or pale yellow. If your urine is a dark color, it is a
sign that you are not drinking enough water.
- Avoid alcohol.
